Dr. Buckley holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from USC, a master’s in Biology from California State University, Fullerton, and a doctorate in Education from San Diego State University. His career in education began in 1990, as a professor at Grossmont College, after working fourteen years in healthcare where he was involved with clinical diagnostic procedures and coordination of clinical and statistical research.
In January 2012, Dr. Buckley became the Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation Liaison Officer for San Diego Miramar College. This position, in the San Diego Community College District, allowed him to return to his primary professional interest, guiding instructional programs, including Miramar’s School of Public Safety and the San Diego Regional Law Enforcement Training Center. In August 2013 Dr. Buckley joined College of the Canyons as the Assistant Superintendent / Vice President of Instruction, now working with business and industry, as well as instructional programs to address the educational needs of the Santa Clarita Valley.
