Presentation on the Santa Barbara City College Career Skills Institute (CSI) Digital Badge program with special guests from participating industry partners. How acquiring digital skills improves internal communication and employees ability to communicate clearly with customers and vendors.
Melissa is the Dean of Educational Programs - Business and former founding Executive Director of the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Santa Barbara City College in California. Under her direction, the Scheinfeld Center is a national award-winning program and serves as a national educational model for other colleges. Under Melissa’s direction, the Scheinfeld Center was awarded two regional designations and she serves as Director of both the Small Business Development Center and the Center for International Trade Development.
Julie Morgan is currently a corporate trainer for Cottage Health in beautiful Santa Barbara CA having just spent a year overseas in New Zealand teaching in a private training establishment with a diverse student population from various pockets of the world. This new position, at Cottage Health combines her years in Healthcare at former Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic (now Sansum Clinic) in a management role leading the Accounts Receivable team with her recent years as a trainer and educator. Julie completed her Masters in Organizational Management was completed at Antioch, Santa Barbara and personal opportunities took her to Las Vegas, Nevada. Life in Las Vegas - included consultant, trainer and board member of the American Society for Training and Development chapter. Amidst these responsibilities, for 15 years, Julie has also been an Online facilitator for University of Phoenix in their School of Business program. This affilitation has afforded an opportunity to see digital education change with the tides of technology. Cottage Health is happy to be partnered with Santa Barbara City College in their Career Skills Institute program as our employees working through the health professionals institute program equipping them with skills to enhance their value to our patients, organization, and community.
